Puppy Training Aggressiveness
Professional Dog Training NJ & NY
My clients are dog owners looking for professional dog training in New Jersey (including Orange, Morris County Bergen and Passaic) and New York (including Rockland, Westchester and Hudson).
While dog training in New Jersey and New York, a common question asked by many puppy owners is “What can be done about puppy training aggressiveness?”
The word ‘aggression’ is tossed around way to much in the dog world; dominance aggression, fear aggression, leash aggression, handler aggression, maternal aggression, puppy aggression, etc.
When we look at how dog owners refer to aggression in puppies, from my experience only a very small percentage could be considered real aggression.
Much of what dog owners feel requires puppy training for aggressiveness can really be attributed simply to normal puppy (or canine) behavior.
Honestly, from my experience dog training in New Jersey and New York, I have come to an unofficial conclusion that many dog owners are really afraid of their own dogs!
Start with Proper Dog Training
With proper dog training, many dog owners soon come to understand that puppy training aggressiveness through dog behavior modification is really not necessary. As dog owners become more aware of typical dog behavior, they are soon able to learn to either prevent or funnel this behavior into something positive and constructive.
In essence, the puppies are fine and there is nothing to worry about – it really is the dog owner that needs help in how to understand typical puppy behavior and how to channel that behavior constructively.
Puppies will nip, chew, bark, growl and more! They are puppies.
Rather than try and get professional puppy training for aggressiveness, dog owners are better off getting professional dog training that not only benefits the dog but also instructs the dog owner on how to recognize and channel typical puppy behavior. Everybody wins.
Children & Puppies
Unfortunately, in many cases, children are a big problem for pups. I say this with the intention to protect the pup.
Children tend to inadvertently teach puppies how to act in ways we should not accept in the house.
Kids are kids and as kids they like to run away, pick the pup up all the time and never use toys…and when there are no toys used, the kids then become the toy. And guess what…pups chew toys!

Dog Training Programs NJ & NY
My dog training programs include puppy training programs as well as adult dog training in New Jersey & New York. The programs will differ due to the age of the dog; usually the separation of “Positive Puppy” and “Basic Obedience” training occurs at five months of age.
The bottom line with dog ownership is control at any time you require it…and control starts with the foundation we build with the puppy training programs.
The dog training programs advance as the pup gets older and the sky is the limit. Off-leash dog control is the ultimate goal.
Dog sport is another way of funneling canine behavior into something constructive and fun. All it takes is daily time with your dog. After all, you got him to enjoy him, so help him learn to be better and obedient.
